Protein is one of the most crucial macronutrients that our bodies demand to function properly every day. Protein is composed of amino acids – those are organic compounds that are made out of one of the five: carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, or sulfur. Amino acids are the building blocks of protein, which assist in framing muscle mass. Everyone over the age of 19 should be consuming at least 0.8 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day.
